Soldiers Beat Up Lawyer, Shoot At Him In Lagos
According to reports today, a group of soldiers brutalized a motorist for arguing over right of way. The soldiers numbering about four reportedly chased the motorist identified barrister Olajide Sipe, from 23 road Mobile Petrol station and shot at his car twice.
After one of the bullets hit Barrister Sipe’s tyre and he had to stop, the soldiers then went on to drag him out of the car and beat him thoroughly with stones and sticks almost to the point of death.
But for the timely intervention of a retired commodore who stopped his car and restrained the soldiers from inflicting more injuries on the lawyer, he could have lost his life in the attack. After the commodore intervened, Jide was rushed by bystanders to Mercy Gate hospital along 72 Road where is receiving treatment.
Barrister Sipe Narrated his ordeal to a correspondent of Naij.com. He said
“I was coming from where I went to buy water barely ten minutes after talking with my wife on the phone, at 23 Road Mobil Petrol station, those buying fuel had blocked one lane and a soldier had stopped a bus on the other lane in the middle of the road.
“When I realsed that the soldier was blocking the road I said to him, Oga this thing you are doing is causing holdup, why don’t you take the bus out of the road, so that we can move, and then he said to me who are you, what nonsense are you talking, and I said, no Oga I’m not trying to teach you what to do, I’m only telling you that if you do this thing it will be better for us using the road.
“The next thing he said was, You must be a useless man, then when I saw that he was already taking that tone I decided to move my car, then he started running after me, after I took the turning on 23 Road, another soldier, light in complexion came in front of my car, I stopped, then he began kicking my front wheel and smashed my windscreen.
“When I saw he was kicking my car, I moved, then the two Soldiers boarded a bike, then they later became four and began chasing me, as I got to 7th Avenue, I made a U-turn and they rammed their bike into my car, then I drove off, when the soldiers saw me driving off they shot at the car twice, the second bullet hit my tyre. When I heard the sound of the gun I couldn’t believe I was being shot at.

Igbos Are The Most Brilliant Black Africa Race –US Report
A United States academic report for 2015 has suggested that the Igbo of South Eastern Nigeria are the most brilliant black African race. According to the report: “a search through the promotional materials of school for a black student – all schools and colleges would always show some black faces in their promotional materials if they have any – reveals that they have had at least one black student, and it was, unsurprisingly, a Nigerian Igbo.”
This is just as two teenage Nigerian high school students, Harold Ekeh and Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna, have broken a record of being accepted by eight Ivy League schools in the United States. Ekeh is a 17-year-old senior student at Elmont Memorial High School, Long Island while Uwamanzu- Nna is a high-school student from Long Island, New York. Schools within the Ivy League are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.
However, the feat, according to two online news portals, NBC News and MSN, revealed that both teenagers are faced with “a big decision to make soon.” For instance, Ekeh was granted admission by 13 universities, including all the eight Ivy League schools.
The NBC News reported that Ekeh is faced with the dilemma of whittling down his college prospects, having applied to 13 colleges, with the hope to “maybe” get into Stony Brook University, about an hour east of his home in Elmont, Long Island.
But, in recent weeks, the cascade of reply letters started pouring in: Harvard. Yes. Yale. Yes. Princeton. Yes. Not only did he get accepted to all of the schools he applied to, those include all eight Ivy League institutions. Speaking with NBC News, Ekeh said: “It’s very, like, stunning.
It’s like getting hit with a brick, honestly. When you see congratulations, you’re like, wow your hard work has paid off, definitely.” The straight-A student has accomplished the rare feat of getting into all of the nation’s Ivy schools, crediting his parents’ work ethic for setting an example and a desire to strive in his adopted homeland after emigrating from Nigeria 10 years ago.
“I find that I’m very over-involved,” Ekeh said, counting advanced placement classes and extracurricular activities, such as science research, school plays and being editor-inchief of his school newspaper, as filling up his time. Ekeh, who scored a 2270 out of 2400 on his SATs, said: “I do have conflicts that maybe I’ll have this programme at the same time as I have another programme and so it’s hard to choose which one to be involved in.
I expected to maybe get into Stony Brook, a couple of other safeties, just based upon the SAT and the GPA, but I was still never certain of anything. There are so many variables taken into consideration in college admissions, so I was never certain of anything at any point.”
Ekeh, one of five brothers, said he wants to study biochemistry and become a neurosurgeon. He is inspired by his grandmother, who began showing symptoms of Alzheimer’s when he was 11. He wants to find a cure. “There are so many researchers working for Alzheimer’s disease right now and many neurogenic disorders that definitely a cure can be found soon,” he said.
As for where he is going to college, he isn’t quite sure, but would like to stay close to family. “I am leaning towards Columbia right now because I’d like to stay in New York City for I guess the rest of my career and work at Mt. Sinai,” Ekeh said, adding that America has given his family a life they might never have had in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Uwamanzu- Nna, who also had found herself in the same situation, told MSN News that she has a big decision to make soon. The Elmont High School valedictorian, who was accepted into all the eight Ivy League schools, also gained admission into Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Uwamanzu-Nna is the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, who said her parents instilled in her the value of education. “Though I was born here in America, I visited Nigeria many times. And I’ve seen that my cousins don’t have the same opportunities that I have.
So, definitely, whatever I do, I want to make sure that it has an impact on Nigeria,” she said. She also said her own tenacity and persistence helped shape her into becoming a great student. But as with a lot of students, she did face hardships with some classes.

A 60-year-old grandmother, Asabi Adebayo, has told the Oyo State Police

allegedly bought five babies for the whopping sum of N5 million, at N1
million per baby, with the sole purpose of taking the babies to the

Parent bought priated copy of Tom and Jerry, and what they saw shocked them.....
Original copies of cartoons and children media entertainments are
expensive, costing between (#2000-#5000), hence pirated copies
(#100-#150) are selling like crazy.
I am not encouraging the purchase of pirated works, but when buying a pirated children's cartoon or educational videos, please preview it alone first before exposing your children to it.
A friend bought a pirates copy of "Tom and Jerry". It was a lazy Friday the kids where napping and we decided to catch a little action of the feuding cat and mouse.
30 minutes into the cartoon...like an interruption of scheduled program, a hardcore pornographic movie came on. See us scampering for the remote, like it was a kill switch to an atomic bomb
Thank God the kids were not in the sitting room. Mummy would have explained; " why one aunty didn't wear her pant and was shouting..Harder! Harder!! Harder!!!"

Man Strips Unclad To Buy Fuel At A Station In Lagos.
This is very serious... The present economic hardship is taking a whole new level now as an able-bodied man stripped unclad in public at a fuel station filled with customers in Lagos. The young man who was outside the petrol station -shamelessly removed his clothes in order for him to be allowed in to buy fuel.
Even a team of policemen stationed there and area boys couldn't stop him from having his way. He was finally allowed into the station where he laid down on the ground after the attendants refused to sell for him. A policeman had to beg the workers there to sell fuel for the mad man

A transgender woman talks about life in a male prison : i was raped 2000 times
MARY was still as the car pulled
closer towards the threatening prison gates and a place that was soon to
become her hell on earth.
As she stepped into the reception area of the jail, she felt all eyes fall upon her as she continued to walk closer to her cell.See Mary, not her real name, wasn’t just any “normal” prisoner — she was a transgender woman who was about to be locked behind bars with men.
Mary was sickened by what happened to her in that Queensland prison, Boggo Road, as it was known in the 90s.
She has lived in fear for decades, with regular flashbacks to the disturbing things she lived through while in jail.
Mary admits she was wrong, she shouldn’t have stolen the car that put her in jail in the first place, but in her mind, she was a female and yearned to be treated as such.
She couldn’t understand why she was thrown among a pack of men.
According to Mary, she was preyed on and raped once a day, sometimes even more
When Mary made it through the jail’s reception she was ordered to strip.
The stares were menacing her as she turned around for a routine bodycheck.
By time Mary had made it to her holding cell, news had travelled through the prison that she was transgender.
She sat in the jail cell, surrounded by some male prisoners who were awaiting court, or who had just returned.
“You are basically set upon with conversations about being protected in return for sex,” Mary told news.com.au.
She was finally taken to the cell where she would stay and within minutes of arriving, she was approached by many men.
“They are either trying to manipulate you or threaten you into some sort of sexual contact and then, once you perform the requested threat of sex, you are then an easy target as others want their share of sex with you, which is more like rape than consensual sex,” she said.
Mary not once wanted to have sex with prisoners, she said she only did it because she was so scared of being bashed.
At times, Mary was put into a cell for prisoners who needed protection, but even then she said she was assaulted by sex offenders.
“It makes you feel sick but you have no way of defending yourself,” she said.
She transferred to other prisons across the state and while she was assaulted at all of them, she said Boggo Road was the worst and most violent.
Mary said she was forced into performing sexual acts more than 2000 times when she was serving her sentence, which was about four years long.
“It was rape and yes I was flogged and bashed to the point where I knew I had to do it in order to survive, but survival was basically for other prisoners’ pleasure,” she said.
“It was hell on earth, it was as if I died and this was my punishment.”
During her sentence, Mary was labelled a high-risk prisoner because she tried to escape three times.
“This meant I would serve all my time in maximum security with the most violent prisoners,” she said.
“I wasn’t escaping for anything else, I just had to get away from the sexual assault.”
In her first couple of nights in jail, Mary tried to defend herself and pushed prisoners off her, but she was flogged.
“Each time I said no and tried to push them away, they just force you and it’s not just one or two people, there’s a bunch of them,” she said.
But it wasn’t just the rape that has caused Mary’s distress.
When she arrived in jail, a prisoner cut her long locks into a crew cut.
“It was halfway down my back, it was horrific,” Mary said.
“It was like my identity was taken away from me.”
She was also denied her hormones, and began to grow facial hair again.
“Your hormonal levels drop so fast, you just start going haywire within a week.”
Mary tried to fight for her hormones but said it was a strict no.
There was one other person in the prison however, who did understand Mary.
She was also a transgender woman and too was targeted for sex.
Unlike Mary, this transgender woman was not able to live with what happened to her.
“She was eventually released but was arrested for breaching parole and she hung herself so she didn’t have to go back to prison,” Mary said.
She believes transgender women are raped because they look like females.
Mary had breasts, but not gender reassignment surgery, and said men just wanted sex.
She tells her story after a transgender woman in WA was put into a male prison in Perth earlier this year.
But this is something that happens all over the world.
Just last year, transgender woman Tara Hudson spent a week in an all-male prison in Gloucestershire where she was tormented.
She was moved to a female prison after people signed a petition.
Also last year, transgender woman Vicky Thompson was found dead in an all-male jail in Armley.
Her lawyer was pushing to get her into a female prison as Thompson told friends she would kill herself if she had to serve her sentence in a male prison.
Transgender advocate CeCe McDonald, who was jailed for defending herself against a group that hurled transphobic and racial slurs at her in 2011, also served her sentence in a male prison.
Mary says she just can’t understand why it happens.
“People must think if you go to a female prison, you’re going to rape women and you’re not — it doesn’t make any sense,” Mary said.
“I’d rather die than go to prison ever again in my whole life.”
Mary said transgender women who had reassignment surgery would be put in a female prison, but believed those who identified as female should have the same rights.
“You’ve seen a psychiatrist, been approved to be on hormones and that takes two years,” she said.
“I look like a woman and I think if a transgender person is genuine and they are living as the opposite sex, then they should be housed in a female prison, even if you’re in a wing on your own.
“You shouldn’t be subjected to sexual assault. You are serving a punishment for an error you made in your life.”
Mary has found it hard to move on since her life in prison.
“I don’t have a relationship and I don’t trust men and never will ever again in my life — I’ve not had a relationship since prison,” she said.
“We are human beings and most of us were born this way and we want to just live our lives but are ridiculed by society because we have the guts to be who we are.”
Fayose ‘Ekiti Governor needs spiritual deliverance,’ Segun Oni says
Punch reports that Oni said Fayose needs spiritual deliverance from emotional bondage.
Oni in a statement said “Governor
Fayose was in his characteristic state of hallucination when he wrote
the letter and claimed, while reveling in his world of ecstatic fantasy,
to be voicing the opinion of Nigerians.
“Fayose’s seemingly strange behaviour is not strange to people like us, as he is only behaving to type.
“We
called the attention of the people to his conduct years ago, during his
first term as governor, after the under-the-barb-wire drama at the
airport, that any governor, who chooses to pass under the barb-wire at
an international airport, whatever the circumstance, cannot be a normal
person and should have his fitness for the exalted office ascertained.”
The
APC chieftain also urged supporters of the Ekiti Governor to ascertain
his mental and emotional state before things get out of hand.
Governor Ayo Fayose wrote a letter to President Xi Jinping of China on Thursday, April 14, 2016, asking him not to grant Nigeria any loan.

Stop Boko Haram: Tawiah To TB Joshua
General Overseer of the Church of Rabbi is urging Nigerian prophet, TB
Joshua to stop the activities of Islamist group, Boko Haram in Nigeria
if he wants his prophecies to be taken seriously.
Prophet Kwabena Tawiah said he is baffled at how the supposed prophet did nothing and now the Boko Haram insurgents have infiltrated and carried out several bombings in Nigeria.
In his view, TB Joshua who is the head of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) should concentrating on driving away Boko Haram from Nigeria and “leave Ghana alone”.
Prophet Kwabena Tawiah’s comment is in reaction to TB Joshua’s prophecy of an eminent attack on Ghana and Nigeria.
Last Sunday, the renowned prophet asked his congregation to pray against the attack which could happen either on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
The Nigerian Prophet was emphatic in prophesying that, “I see Thursday, Friday. Pray for these two nations – Nigeria and Ghana – over gathering in any way; over an attack. I am seeing the attack and that will be in a foreign way. The attack will come not in a local way. So please open your lips and pray for these two nations for protection.”
But his prophecy has been met with a lot of criticisms with many religious bodies including the Christian Council calling on security agencies to ignore it since Ghana cannot run on “the back of prophecies.”
In support, the outspoken Kwabena Tawiah stressed that the prophecy must be treated with the contempt it deserves.
Describing TB Joshua’s prophecy as unnecessary, the Church of Rabbi leader said assuming without admitting that the prophecy is true, God would have revealed it to a Ghanaian prophet and not a foreigner.
“What is TB Joshua saying; he should leave Ghana alone and concentrate on Boko Haram in Nigeria” he fumed.
Rather, Kwabena Tawiah called on TB Joshua to support President Buhari with his prophecies to help arrest the Boko Haram insurgents terrorizing citizens in Nigeria.

Linda Ikeji Blogger's sister reportedly in love with Kanu Nwankwo's brother
Laura Ikeji, a rising fashionista and Linda Ikeji's kid sister has been reported to be enjoying a romantic affair with ex-footballer and Kanu Nwankwo's younger brother, Ogbonna Nwankwo.
According
to a report by Faith Irabor News Room, the two are seriously into one
another and have been keeping their affair close themselves and few
family members.
In one of the Laura's 2,499
pictures on Instagram, she posted a picture of herself and Ogbonna
having an early morning jog in far away United States of America, where
she had gone to visit her sister.
Though Ogbonna,
who works closely with his brother, Kanu Nwankwo, has two kids from a
previous relationship that went sour, he's said to be head over heels in
love with Laura, who also doubles as a blogger.
In another picture, Laura posted a picture of herself in her bed awaiting the arrival of Mr O, and followed it with a picture of her hand and a male hand (suggested to be Ogbonna's hand) with the caption, 'My world.'
Fayose Nigerians mock Governor over China 'speech'
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, who is currently in China, has been the subject of ridicule since photos of him supposedly addressing the Chinese business community were released online by his loyalists.
According to report, he gave a speech
at the Multinationals Sourcing Service Centre, PAzhou Trade Complex,
Guangzhou, China, canvassing for the support and empowerment of Nigeria.
Fayose had on Tuesday, April 12, written a letter to the Chinese government not to borrow Nigeria $2 billion in loan, for which purpose President Muhammadu Buhari is in the Asian country - the All Progressives Congress (APC) described the move as an act of sabotage.
However,
Nigerians believe Fayose's supposed speech was just a propaganda, with
some people familiar with the venue of the 'speech' saying it is a
tourist centre, where people take pictures posing with the podium.
A popular social media influencer, Japheth Omojuwa, described the Governor as "Nigeria's biggest joker".
Ex-senator says child-rapists should be castrated
Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, has advocated for capital punishment for any individual convicted of rape or sexual assault.
In
a report by Vanguard Newspaper, Ita-Giwa advised that the only way to
end rape and sexual assault is by ensuring convicted rapists get
castrated.
Speaking at the ‘Magnenta and Black
Art & Fashion for Charity’ at the British Council, Lagos Ita Giwa
stressed further that imprisoning rapist is not enough justice as
castrating convicted rapist will serve as deterrence to intending
rapists.
In her words,
"If I were a judge and a
man is brought to court for raping a child, he will receive capital
punishment. But I will say, `don’t kill him, rather let him live his
life in pain, let his organ be cut off’.
'He
should not be allowed the pleasure of using that organ anymore. If the
organ is not cut off, at the end of his term in prison, he will use it
on other children. Fortunately for them, I’m no longer in the Senate
but I will find a way to get it into the chamber. This is the proper way
to end the evil of rape in the society,' she said.
Ita-Giwa,
represented Cross River in the Senate and later served as Special
Adviser on National Assembly Matters to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
Linda Ikeji: I Took Wizkid To Police In Lagos Because Of These
My issue with Wizkid...why I took the case to the police
I'm sure many of you have read that the police is now involved in my issue with Wizkid. Yes, I reported his public threat to me two Sundays ago to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and I want to explain why I did it! Please pay attention and keep an open mind.
I've read a lot online from people saying I don't like Wizkid. Even Wizkid himself thinks I don't like him. Why he or anyone would think so is puzzling to me to be honest. Apart from his achievements after he started insulting me online a few weeks ago...everything else, every success Wizkid has recorded in the last 3/4 years is on LIB. All the awards, all the record breaking feats, his sold out concerts, his foreign magazine features, and collaborations, everything that has built him up to the young man he is today is on LIB. Please verify! Search my blog. Please continue...
I was a huge Wizkid fan. The only song I danced harder to than his 'Dance For Me' track was Fuse ODG's 'Antenna and Kiss Daniel & DJ Shabzy's Raba. So, no, I had no dislike for Wizkid. But about a year ago, I noticed his indirect snide remarks at me...and when some other music star beefed with me, Wizkid showed his support and made disrespectful comments. That was when I noticed he had issues with me... but that didn't stop me from writing about him and celebrating him.
Now to the issue at hand. When I reported that he was served quit notice at his Lekki home, I stated fact and I didn't write it out of malice. It's not everyday you get exclusive stories...and I'm sure any other blogger who got the story first would also have published it. So, there was no beef, I was just doing my job. A day or so after I wrote this story, Wizkid went on my instagram page to call me names and lied that I slept with some director of his...which I have said before is 1000% lies! But the insult and lies is not why the police is now involved.
Here's the thing; You can insult me, insult my family, call me any names you like, even lie that I slept with your forefathers...but don't threaten me. If you threaten me, I will act!
I read people online saying that I reported to the police because I am scared of Wizkid. No, my darlings, I am not afraid of Wizkid. Though I do not take his threats lightly. I went to the authorities for two reasons...and please young boys of our generation, pay attention to what I am about to write below.
You see, violence against women and threat of violence against women is not okay. Threatening harm to someone in a public space is a criminal act in every country of the world, including Nigeria. I bet some of you didn't know that, yeah? You can not publicly threaten someone with harm. You will only get away with it if your victim doesn't report to the authorities. If they do, you will have a case with the police and I promise you, the police take these things seriously.
I reported this case to the authorities because I want our young men to know this is not okay. You should not raise your hands on a woman. You shouldn't even threaten to raise your hands on a woman. Wizkid wrote that he would send his 16 year old cousin to beat the poo out of me. Letting Wizkid get away with it is basically telling our young men that this is okay...and it's not!
After Wizkid made the threat to me, I saw a lot of teen boys hailing and applauding him. To them, this was okay. If their idol can threaten a woman with harm, and use derogatory words, they also can do it...and that's how the circle of abuse of women continues. Women being called 'smelly Kitty-Cat' trended online for a day or two! Little boys were happy to use the words. Sad!
It is appalling to me that anyone, especially women, would cheer Wizkid on. When he wrote RIP Linda, I saw a few young girls write same, laughing. This is not a laughing matter. It doesn't matter whether you like me or not! This is not about Linda Ikeji. This is about abuse of women which has eaten deep into our society, so deep that it has now been accepted as normal. Men do it all the time and get away with it. So many women are battered by their husbands and they refuse to speak up because of the stigma. They refuse to seek help because they are afraid of what people will say. I am sorry, I am not one of those women. I refuse to be victimized. And as long as I have my voice and my platform, I will speak up.
We women have to come together to lend a strong voice to the plight of women in our continent. When we see a woman being physically and mentally abused, let's act. Let's speak up. Let's not laugh and say she deserves it. If we continue to keep quiet, the circle of abuse will continue. And one day, You, yes You, will find yourself in the receiving end of a thundering slap, followed by heavy blows. If not you, then maybe your daughter? Let's condemn violence and threat of violence against women! This is not acceptable!
Young men like Wizkid, a father of two young boys himself, should never advocate violence against women. One day, he will have a daughter, how would he feel if another male threatens to put hands on her or even calls her a hoe?
I can't count how many times Wizkid called me a hoe in his rant against me. That's what boys do. When they get into a fight with a woman, they try to slut-shame her. Smelly Kitty-Cat, hoe, ashawo etc. You call a woman, who gave another young woman, whose real name she doesn't even know N500,000 just because she said she would rather work by carrying cement than prostitute herself, that's the person you call a hoe? When your mind is so warped you can't differentiate between a woman and a hoe, then this is what happens. Except you drive to Sanusi Fanfuwa at 2am to pick up a prostitute, who proudly describes herself as one, then you shouldn't call any woman a hoe.
Even Tupac who was a well known thug could differentiate between the types of women he dealt with. When asked in an interview why he called women bitches, he said people shouldn't confuse things, that he wouldn't address a mother or a sister the way he would address a Dam, that the bitches were the ones he dealt with in the clubs who behaved like one. He reiterated that he respected women!
In more civilized countries, Wizkid would have lost his endorsements and spent the next year or so apologizing and being in the fore-front of promoting anti-violence crusades against women. It took Chris Brown years to get back on his feet after his assault on a woman. Up till today, he doesn't have any major endorsements and some countries still deny him entrance into their country i.e Australia for something he did 7 years ago. Yes, violence against women is serious!
And there's the case of incitement. When you have power and influence, you have to be careful what you say in public. Because you have such power, something you say can influence your followers. A fan can commit acts that even you may not support or might not even condone. But because it came out of your mouth, they think you mean it. So it is irresponsible to say things that might be inciteful. In Law, you can be held responsible when people act based on what you said in public. Tupac was charged to court and indicted after some thugs killed a police officer. The thugs went to court and mentioned that their idol encouraged violence against LA police officers in a song where he said 'Drop a cop'. So, we folks with some measure of influence should be more careful with our utterances. People are watching and listening!
The second reason I filed a police report is to encourage other women in similar situations to do same. My dear ladies, if a man threatens to puts hands on you, and you feel the threat is real, report to the authorities. Don't wait until he does it. What if you don't survive it? If he's picked up and may be charged to court (yes, you can be charged to court for making threats...it's a misdemeanor with a prison sentence), then he will think twice before making threats against you in the future or any other woman for that matter.
I went as far as I did for me and for other women. This is to pass a strong message to our young men that these kinds of behaviour towards women will not be tolerated. Should not be tolerated. If you assault or even threaten to assault a woman, the law will come after you if she chooses not to be silent. Women, don't be silent. Let's break the circle. For your sake, for my sake, for the sake of our daughters, grand daughters, great grand daughters and all other women that will follow them.
And that's really all I have to say in the matter. Thank you guys for reading
And to Wizkid fans, please be rest assured that I wish him all the best in life. He will continue to grow from strength to strength (as long as he doesn't endorse violence against women) and his light will never diminish. God brought him to this level and will continue to keep him. I have nothing but love for his craft and hope that one day, we will put this behind us.
God bless him, me, you and everyone else in the world
Cheers.

Ejike Mbaka: How Abacha Almost Killed Me, Why I Returned GEJ Offering
Rev Mbaka has granted his first interview since he was transferred to another parish in Emene area of Enugu.
The spirit-filled prophet granted the interview around 6:30pm on Sunday to a group of reporters waiting to hear clarification on controversies surrounding his sudden transfer, ministry and prophecy.
He talked about his encounter with ex-President Jonathan and his wife Patience. He also narrated how he escaped an attempt on his life after he prophesied Abacha’s death.
See excerpts below
How are you coping with your transfer, father?
God is wonderful. You can see that I am smiling, filled with cheers and the joy of the Lord. I have the feeling that God’s hand is in my going out of GRA. No matter what caused it, no matter how it was caused, I am seeing everything as the will of God. When I remember that God is with me and for me, I am filled with joy and comforted. The ways of God are divine and mysterious and at times when He wants to do a thing, we humans may not understand it. We may be seeing the external, but God, who sees the future, plans and packages everything for us. When we were leaving the GRA on Saturday, the worshippers in the Adoration Ministry were filled with mixed feelings. I was also filled with thoughts of where to keep the ministry’s assets because this is a ministry God has blessed. I am not
talking about my personal assets, which basically, are books and clothes. But I am happy that I am here. Although the place I am posted to cannot contain the assets of the ministry, we have to get going. As it is, I am joyful and the vision and passion have hiked; the vibration is all over and I want to tell you that starting from now, it is no longer going to be the Adoration Ministry that people knew before now, in Jesus name, Amen.
Mrs. Jonathan visited and you prayed for her. Where did the disconnect come in because there are allegations that you wanted phone number and money, which were not given to you?
Praise the Lord… I am just laughing because many people try to enter areas they don’t know. Prophetic area is a life that is spiritual. Holy Spirit controls that atmosphere. The Holy Spirit, who gives you life now can take it one minute after. He does not make mistake and because you are living last night and died in the morning does not mean He has made mistake. He is unchangeable God can change circumstances. Remember what happened in the book of Isaiah 38. Prophet Isaiah told Hezekiah that he was going to die. Hezekiah knelt down and prayed to God that he did not want to die. Isaiah had not even walked out one minute when the Holy Spirit told him to go back and tell the same Hezekiah that he would have 15 more years added to his life. But before then, many people had heard that God told Hezekiah through Isaiah that he was going to die and many of them heard again that the same God said he would live again.
So, when it comes to prophetic life, it should be an area that should be left for people who have prophetic spirit; it is not a layman’s football field to play in; it is not even a journalist’s field to rattle words.
Look at what happened in the book of 2nd Chronicles 8; it was Makaiah, the prophet, that king was afraid of him and whatever the king wanted to ask other prophets, he asked Makaiah. Other prophets would come to him and tell him what he wanted to hear, but Makaiah would always tell him what God wanted him to hear.
One of those days, Makaiah came on the invitation of the king to tell him whether he should go to war, even when other men of God had told him to go, that nothing would happen. Makaiah came and told him to go that nothing would happen and the king was happy to say that it was the first time Makaiah was prophesying something favourable to him. Everybody was clapping and the king was preparing and Makaiah came back and asked the king whether he wanted him to tell him what God had said or what he the king wanted to hear.
He said if the king went to war, he would die and the nation would be messed up. The king said he knew the prophet was his enemy, that other prophets had said something positive. But the king, out of obduracy, went to that war and was defeated. Instead of asking Makaiah, what he would do, he chose to call Makaiah names.
Prophet’s life is a gift. God has been using me to prophesy since my days in the primary school and all of them have come true. In my primary three, even when I knew nothing, people would come to me to tell them what I knew about them. I don’t see it always and I don’t know any particular thing that I do and I begin to see it; but when it comes, I will say it like that and it will be true. So, the case of Jonathan and his wife, God in heaven knew that apart from the offertory the woman gave at the altar, there was money in the bag that one of the aides of the former President brought.
The Holy Spirit said send back this money and I returned the whole money plus the one she put as offertory. All of them were returned. When the saga was going on, I put my hands on the altar, swore an oath that if I ever touched Jonathan’s one kobo, may he win the election and that if I never and I was being accused of it, he would fail the election.
There was this issue about phone number….?
I demanded the phone number, not for any personal encounter; it was so that if any message came that we could give to him privately, we would do so. Some prophecies should not be made public, but when the person that should receive it privately inhibits the opportunity of receiving it, God may force you to make it public. It burns like fire in your heart. I don’t take bribe from anybody. God blessed me. Many people think I live by offertory but I want to say that throughout my stay in GRA, I was never fed with one kobo of offertory money. I am a musician; I have music worth multi-million naira. I don’t know how to write sofa notation; it comes by inspiration and it is a gift from God. But I swore an oath that whatever God gives to me will go for charity, to help the poor and less-privileged, the church and ministry.
The type of church I am talking about is the interdenominational and even inter-religious. When I want to do charity, I don’t look at who is a Moslem or Christian; it is global. So, why would I take money from
Mrs. Jonathan, for what? If I need money from them, I know what was offered me, but I don’t need that kind of money. At that time, people were saying N5 million, but if I tell you what I was offered, you will drop what you are holding. Two senators were there when I returned the money; one of them, said if he was in my shoes, he would take the money and be prepared to die. He said a normal man of God could not return it and I said then, I was not normal. I left the money there and came back. So, when they could not give me their number, they asked Kennedy Opara to give me his number. So, I would call Kennedy that we were praying for them to win the election. I did not prophesy the day the woman came. I was praying for them and then on December 31, the prophecy came undiluted, just like the prophecy of 2013 that Nigerian oil boom time will turn to oil doom, that Jonathan should wake up and diversify our economy, that in no distant time, our naira would have a problem, our oil would fail in the market. The warning was for us to maximise the boom time and wait for the doom period.
Nobody listened; many men of God started criticising me. I never criticised any man of God because of his message. But why is it that anytime Mbaka speaks, people get worried? I would say that the prophecy was that Jonathan would not win the election and he didn’t win it. What else do we need to do to know it is true? The accomplishments, the fulfillment and realisation of prophetic utterance prove the reality. If it is God, it must come to pass; if it is not God, it must not come to pass. God cannot fail and if he had authored a prophecy, he will finish it.
So, the issue of Jonathan and money, God in heaven knows, none of their one kobo was given to me. Why are people even making a noise? Before Jonathan came, the prophecy came that the next president would come from Niger Delta; so why are they making noise? The day Abacha died, prophecy came a week before (Wednesday before the Monday he died), that the president would die next week. Instead of his aides coming to ask about the solution (because most of the time, when God gives me a prophecy, He gives the solution), they pursued me; even my mechanic was almost killed that time. They continued to witch-hunt me. I ran into the bush, from Thursday morning, Friday, Saturday and on Sunday I came from the bush to celebrate Mass and the message kept coming that Abacha’s death was imminent and the next day, I was in the chapel when the message came that Abacha was no more. So, that is it. I don’t know how it came. So, when Abacha eventually died on that Monday, people shuddered. I ask people to respect God and respect His words and ways and stop defaming the minister of God, remembering Psalm 105:15: ‘touch not my anointed and do no harm to my prophet.
That I am a priest does not mean I am not Ejike Mbaka. So, there is nothing fake or political about my prophetic life. I don’t say things to gain anything. Even President Buhari, when it was prophesied that he was going to be the president, I had never seen or known him then. When eventually I met him (Buhari) when I went for prayers at Aso Rock (not the one people saw me shaking hands with him), what I demanded from him was good governance for Nigeria. I didn’t ask him to give me one kobo. One kobo of Buhari has never entered my hand.
So, did Buhari assure you of good governance?
Buhari assured. His only worry is democratic bureaucracy; if not, this country could, by now, have turned into one where everybody will praise God. So, it’s the same Buhari who worked with Idiagbon, the same spirit, the same enthusiasm, the same will power, the same focus and; the difference is that now there are lots of democratic hurdles; yet he assured me of giving Nigeria good governance.
But so far, are you satisfied with what he has done?
You know it’s too early to judge Buhari; because going by what we have seen in the past government, so far, Buhari has done very well. Look at the case of moral probity, how he, without mincing words, said no to same sex marriage. It’s unAfrican; he said it’s not debatable in Nigeria.
Because if same sex marriage is legalised in Nigeria, it is worse than economic collapse because the bedrock of every successful country is her morality. So, if Buhari is touching the nucleus of the country, which is the moral probity and enhancing spiritual value, he has succeeded.
Also, look at the issue of Boko Haram; somebody who came to fight terrorism, even though there are skeletal attacks here and there, but the issue of gang-up of Boko Haramic force, operating with flags and taking over the country is a dead story. So, he has succeeded; kudos to him. No matter how other people are seeing him, they must learn to see the good part of him; he is doing his best, but Nigerians must do their best too. So, the man who is fighting terrorism doggedly like this, has he not succeeded? We should clap for him, even if he has not gotten 100 per cent; 98 per cent is not a small mark.
In the area of corruption, for the first time, the untouchables in Nigeria are being touched. Courageously, he is moving, like a lion; not to get anything from it but to save Nigeria, the sinking Nigeria. If it’s not somebody like Buhari, by now Nigeria will be a country for sale.
Because of the fate, guarantee and assurance Buhari is giving to the international community, they see him as a man that is trustworthy; a man that is not corrupt; a man they can invest in his government and go home and sleep. That’s why multi-national companies are coming to invest; people are just waiting for the budget and the country will spark-off. It is the budget that is slowing down many things and you cannot blame Buhari over the budget and you cannot equally blame the National Assembly for the budget delay; because there is fluctuation in the core source of the budget, oil.
Today, it is $29, tomorrow it is $27; before you know it , it comes to $31; but remember the benchmark is $38; so, how can it be approved? Which means the budget under this present predicament is unrealistic.
Buhari was realistic when he proposed the budget, but the economic decay and collapse have put everybody off balance. If you approve it now, how will the money be realised? Can you imagine, the same people who wanted to continue to rule us embezzled 99 per cent of the country’s resources; not investing them in Nigeria, but sending them abroad; is that not wickedness? For me, it is a rape on the economy; past governments raped Nigeria. All of them should be kneeling down with hands up apologising from morning till night to be pardoned; going from house to house to beg Nigerians. It’s a rape. They raped our morality; they raped our economy, they raped our security; what did they not rape? They raped our spirituality; because they even gathered the men of God to be singing for them and they were giving them money. It’s holistic rape.
Some see you as a controversial figure, especially based on the way you fallout with politicians. Can you tell us what is happening between you and politicians?
Politicians want to make themselves god; and I am a servant of God. I am worried when somebody becomes an idol to be worshipped; and make himself a sacred cow that cannot be touched; when he is a thief. I am not against politicians; politics is not evil; all politicians are not corrupt. There are some good people in politics. I encourage Christians to join politics, with good heart; it’s only good people, Christians that can change the country. Even if you are not a Christian and you are a good man, join the government. But you know the predicament Nigeria fell into was that when the military was handing over, good people were afraid whether the thing was real and a lot of hooligans took over and saw government as looting avenue where funds made to create jobs for the public, develop the country and the people is carried away by one person. Even in Igbo land, some of our politicians are turning our poor, unemployed people into Amajiris, so that when they come home they will dash them N2, 000 each, give bags of rice for 100 people and they will sing for him. And a man of God cannot be watching what is happening and keep quiet.
They say I am controversial because I say what they don’t want to hear. I don’t need their money; I want them to be faithful to God; to be dedicated to their duty, and to stop being corrupt. The little they have can be enough for them; somebody who doesn’t have a workshop, no office, no market centre, no business card, but he is a multi billionaire because he is getting sitting and standing allowance. And you say we should be clapping for them when all your brothers are wretched, and you are the only cock crowing. And when you say, my friend why should you steal, embezzle the money meant for the public, Mbaka becomes a controversial priest.
Child Abuse Woman brutalise 12-yr-old housemaid for eating bread in Kaduna
The young girl who is from Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, was taken as a maid to live with her uncle, identified as David Kelvin and his wife, Omolara, but has been a victim of abuse almost on a daily basis.
A concerned neighbour posted the story of the girl's battered hands and buttocks on Facebook:
“I met this little girl who happens to be a maid for a certain family in my neighborhood here in Mahuta District, before Refinery junction, Kaduna South. This little poor girl is named Veronica Beatrice, 12yrs. She is from Bassa Local Govt in Plateau State.
The abused girl, Veronica Beatrice
She is in serious pain out of the maltreatment she receives from her madam. According to the girl, she said that her madam stopped her from going to school for 3 days now just because she took some bread after her madam gave her a small piece that she ate and she was still hungry, so she decided to collect more.
When her madam returned back home and found out, she gave her the beating of her life and asked her to do frog jump, dig her own grave and made her carry mutter (used in pounding fufu) on that same hand that she used in digging her grave.
According to the girl the name of her madam is Omolara, and the husband’s name is David Kelvin and the husband is from Jos too.
Only a wicked woman would do this to a girl
This is child abuse in the on the highest level and I pray the appropriate government organization to take up this case and come to the aid of this poor little girl."
