'Drunk' man mauled to death by white tiger after leaping into its enclosure at Delhi zoo

A man has been killed by an endangered tiger after allegedly jumping into its
moat at an Indian zoo.
The man, named locally as Maqsood, is said to have been under the influence of
alcohol when he climbed into the white tiger enclosure at New Delhi Zoo on
Tuesday.
Witnesses say the 22-year-old entered the enclosure despite several attempts by
zoo security to keep him from the tigers.

Once the man had jumped into the enclosure, the tiger grabbed him by the neck
as terrified onlookers began throwing sticks and stones at the animal to try to
save him.
Photos posted online of the attack show the tiger standing over the victim, who
can be seen curled into a ball, trying to protect his head with his hands.

A witness said he raced to the enclosure after hearing screams, to see the
victim locked in the tiger's jaws, ‘writhing badly in pain’.
‘Around 1.30pm, when we were in the reptiles area, we heard very loud
screams,’ the witness told CNN-IBN news channel.
‘We saw that a white tiger had caught a boy by his neck and he was writhing
badly in pain. He kept suffering for the next 10-15 minutes but nobody helped
him.’

The zoo remained open Tuesday afternoon, though authorities eventually roped

off the tiger enclosure.

White tigers are found in southern and eastern Asia, particularly India, and

owe their appearance to a recessive gene. They are regarded as an endangered

species.

India is home to 1,706 Royal Bengal tigers and fewer than 100 white tigers,

according to the last census in 2011. All the white tigers are in captivity.

Rampant poaching and loss of habitat due to human encroachment are cited as

the major challenges to tiger conservation efforts.

Police Deputies Disciplined After Posing With 50 Cent For Photos

Last month, 50 Cent was in Palm Beach, Florida for a civil court case. While
walking through the building, the rapper posed for pictures with the attorney
of a rape victim and three police deputies.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office reportedly found out about the pictures
this past weekend and administered “verbal counseling” as the deputies’
discipline.
"All parties involved placed themselves in a position of disadvantage by taking
on a laize-faire (sic) attitude, due to Mr. Jackson's singing background, thus
neglecting their assigned duties to their position,” the supervisors report stated,
according to Daily Mail. "It should be noted all deputies involved were in their
class 'B' uniform, thus giving a poor perspective and lack of neutrality on
behalf of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office."

Sulaiman Abu Ghaith sentenced to life in prison

Osama Bin Laden's son-in-law, who was an al-Qaeda spokesman after 9/11, has
been sentenced to life in prison for terrorism-related charges at a trial in New
York.
Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, 48, is the highest-ranking al-Qaeda figure to face trial on
US soil since the attacks.
The Kuwaiti clergyman was captured in Jordan last year and brought to the US.
In March, a jury found Abu Ghaith guilty of conspiracy to kill Americans and
aiding al-Qaeda.
Addressing him directly, US District Judge Lewis Kaplan said it was his
"assessment that you are committed to doing everything you can to carry out
al Qaeda's agenda to kill Americans".
Videos showing Abu Ghaith threatening America with no end to the "storm of
airplanes'' were shown to jurors.
Abu Ghaith argued his role was a purely religious one, aimed at encouraging
all Muslims to rise up against their oppressors.
He testified that Bin Laden had asked him to be al-Qaeda's spokesman on the
night of the 9/11 attacks.

Abu Ghaith, who is one of the highest-ranking al-Qaeda linked figures to face a
civilian jury on terrorism-related charges, is married to Bin Laden's eldest
daughter Fatima.
Bin Laden, a founder of al-Qaeda, was killed by US forces in May 2011 at his
hideout in Pakistan.

BREAKING: Defence Headquarters retracts statement on rescue of Chibok girls, says it’s no longer sure

The Defence Headquarters has retracted its earlier statement
confirming the rescue of the abducted Chibok girls.
The spokesperson for the defence headquarters, Chris
Olukolade, had told PREMIUM TIMES that a yet unclear
number of the girls had been freed and driven in two Toyota
Hiace buses to the Maimalari Barracks, the headquarters of
the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri.
But less than 30 minutes after he spoke to us, Mr. Olukolade
called back to say he was withdrawing his earlier statement.
He said he had been having difficulty establishing contact
with his colleagues in Maiduguri and that he was no longer
sure that the girls driven into the barracks were newly
rescued.
Mr. Olukolade had told this newspaper the girls had been
freed and that the rescue exercise was still ongoing and that
appropriate statement would be made later.
PREMIUM TIMES has also learnt that the girls driven into the
Maimalari barracks were those who escaped earlier from the
Boko Haram sect.
The over 200 girls, mostly teenagers, were kidnapped from
their secondary school in Chibok, Borno State, on April 14.
With the military withdrawing its statement, it now does
appear the girls are still in captivity.

TB Joshua may be dragged to court over building collapse

Lagos - A South African party has urged the South African government to
assist the families of the victims of the Synagogue Church building collapse in
Nigeria to sue its founder, Temitope Joshua aka TB Joshua, Punch reports.
The party, the Democratic Alliance, said the manner in which the church
handled the collapse of a guesthouse in the church premises which left over
80 people dead and several injured may be criminally liable.
An audio recording surfaced at the weekend of TB Joshua allegedly telling
reporters how to frame the building collapse story after offering them N50
000, an allegation the church has not denied yet.
Families of the 25 South Africans injured in the Nigeria church building
collapse were allowed to "meet and greet" them at the Steve Biko Academic
Hospital in Pretoria on Monday.
"We have asked the doctors to allow you to say hello. We have requested that
once they are stabilised the meet and greet must happen," said Deputy Social
Development Minister Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu.
"Some of the patients require immediate theatre. You will see them before
they go to theatre. We are appealing to the families to work with us."
She said the families were discouraged from kissing and hugging the patients.
"We don’t recommend that for now," she said.
The families were granted around five minutes to see the patients. Private
rooms were set aside inside the hospital for the families to consult the patients.

Bad Lagos Man R@pes Young Girl, Uploads Her N*de Photos Online

A 30-year old man has allegedly r@ped a 20-year old girl in
Lagos, southwest Nigeria and uploaded her pictures on the
internet.
The suspect, Olaniyan Oluwakayode, who hails from Osun
State, allegedly r@ped the girl in his apartment at Ifako area
of Lagos. He was arrested by the police and brought to the
Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty
Alleviation, WAPA, in handcuffs.
The victim (name withheld) from Akwa Ibom State, alleged
that after being r@ped, Oluwakayode snapped her pictures
despite pleas from his sister to desist from such barbaric act,
saying Oluwakayode was never her boyfriend as he claimed.
“He stops me anytime I am going to work. He approached me
and I told him I was not ready to give him a reply. I did not
go to his house. On my way back from work on Tuesday last
week, I saw someone running out of his house, because there
is a bush around their compound so he jumped from the fence
down and held my hand and said he wants to do what’s on
his mind.
“So I asked him why would he do what’s on his mind when I
have not even accepted his advances, he said he would do
what is on his mind today; so he dragged me into the bush.
When I wanted to shout, he brought out a knife and said if I
shouted, he would kill me there. “So from the bush, he
dragged me to his house and locked the door. I tried all I
could to open it but I couldn’t because the door is an iron door
and very strong. He used his legs to hold my neck, he tore my
skirt, my pant and my bra. He beat me very well on my head,
neck and body and removed my pant and he slept with me.
After he finished sleeping with me, I couldn’t shout again
because he was beating me and forcing me to open my legs.
When I refused, he also held my neck so I couldn’t shout,” she
alleged.
According to her, when Oluwakayode’s sister came back
around 9.00pm, she asked her brother to open the door, asking
him if he wanted to kill somebody’s else child.
The victim said when he heard his sister shouting, he took her
to the second room and still slept with her after which she
urinated on the floor.
“His sister then came through the second window and pleaded
with him to let me go, telling him that if she was the person
that was being treated like that, would he be happy about it? I
started crying. I am 20 years old and I work as an Office
Assistant and I learnt Fashion Designing.
“He has been asking me out for a long time. I was never his
girlfriend, I have my own boyfriend. He raped me with pains,
even his sister was crying and he snapped me immediately
and his sister even said she will call his mother because even
if she was the one they did that thing to, he would even over
react,” she stated. The suspect, Oluwakayode denied raping
her, saying she was his girlfriend.
“I was fighting with my girlfriend but they are accusing me of
raping her. I never deny the fact that I snapped her picture
when she was naked. We were fighting inside, but any other
allegation levelled against me is a big lie. The only thing I did
which I do not deny is that I snapped her n*k*d picture. “We
were fighting inside and she has been hurting me for a very
long period and we had an issue which made me delete her
number. Last week, she flashed me. When I saw the strange
number, I called the number back immediately. When I heard
her voice, I asked her what she wanted because she told me
that her name was Blessing, until we had the issue and she
said her name is Comfort,” he explained.
According to him, he met her passing by in June when he
approached her to ask her for her phone number, which she
obliged. “Immediately, I called her and on her way back, she
flashed me and I called her back and we met. She even came
to my house and we sat outside and talked. She agreed to date
me. There was a day we spoke on phone and she was asking
me if I had an apartment, I told her that I didn’t want to rush
into anything, that I wanted to settle down in my business. I
do branding in my house at Ifako.
“They said I r@ped her, but one thing is that I have a
conscience and she also has a conscience and let our
conscience judge. I believe with all the proof, the truth is that
I never denied beating her, I did beat her with my head on
her face and on her back when she held my manhood; so all
the allegation of bringing out a powder, a knife and belt, I did
not do it because I have a conscience and she has a
conscience, that’s all,” he explained. Director of Child
Development, WAPA, Mrs. Alaba Fadairo said the case would
be charged to court as it was a case of raping and uploading
the pictures on the internet.
“From here, we are going to the court because it is an
infringement on someone’s right. But it is not immediate
because all the necessary tests have to be done, like the
evidence, medical report and all. The most important thing is
to ensure she has not been infected with HIV. The hospital
should be able to prove to us to back up her claims
“You do not have to force a person to have your way. It has to
be mutual consent. The most barbaric aspect is that it was
done and it was aired. Where is the dignity of the woman? It
shows the person is callous and wicked and I think we should
allow the arm of the law take its course so that the girl could
feel justice has been served,” she said.
Fadairo said the case would not be swept under the carpet
except the victim herself was opting out, saying government
would not give up.
“That’s why I am going to follow it up to the letter and see
that the matter is handled. There is no going back.
“It’s a dent on the victim and it’s not about r@pe, it’s about
putting her pictures on social media. I don’t think anyone will
want to opt out. You also know the government has zero
tolerance for issues of child abuse except we are not in the
know. He is likely to face imprisonment, but the number of
years is at the discretion of the court.”

"My Father R@ped And Impregnated Me" - JSS2 Girl Tells Her Pathetic Story [PHOTOS]

A 42-year-old man Segun Oderinde impregnated his 16-year-
old daughter in Oyo state, last year and today, they have a
child - a bouncing baby boy Moses Okiki Bolutiwatife.

This means that Oderinde is the father and grandfather of his
daughter’s baby!

The name, Boluwatife, means ‘As God wills’, but is it really the
will of God for a man to sire a child through his own
biological daughter? Okiki also means ‘fame’ but is it this kind
of fame the little baby would have wished himself? This is the
strange thing that has happened in the Oderinde family in
Gboro Compound, Igbeti, Olorunsogo Local Government area
of Oyo State.
The teenage mother narrated her story thus:
“I was living with my mother until 2013 when my father asked
me to come and live with him. On December 25, 2013, my
father woke me up and asked to remove myclothes but I
refused. He drew a cutlass and threatened to kill me if I did
not do his bidding. Afraid, I removed my clothes and he
forcefully had s*x with me. He was the first man to sleep with
me because I had never had s*x before then.
“The following day, I reported to one of his two wives who
was a nurse and she promised to ask him, but I don’t know
whether she eventually did. In March, 2014, he did the same
thing again and I ran to his second wife’s house and reported
to her. She asked me to swear to an oath with a bible but I
refused since I knew I was saying the truth. I started sleeping
in her apartment.
“In April, he came to tell me to return to his apartment to do
some things for him but I refused to go. His wife however put
pressure on me to answer my father’s call since he wanted me
to do some things for him at home. I followed him after much
pressure.
“Unfortunately for me, on Saturday preceding Easter
celebration, precisely on April 18, he had s*x with me again.
All the while, I did not know I was pregnant. I had my last
menstruation in December 2013.
“My stepmother suspected I was pregnant and took me to one
Mrs Aremu who confirmed the pregnancy. The case was
reported at the police station and I started living with my
paternal grandfather until I fell into labour. My mother
wanted the pregnancy to be aborted but the doctor said he
could not do it.
“After I was delivered of the baby and my grandfather was
told that the baby has a striking resemblance with my father,
he ran away and has not been seen since then.
“Since the confirmation of the pregnancy, the DPO and the
DCO were the ones who purchased baby things and other
items that I would need during and after delivery. They also
paid my hospital bill. I now stay with my mother and she is
helping me to take care of the baby.”
The girl appealed to members of the public to come to her aid
so that her education would not be stalled. “I want to return
to school. I was in JSS2 when this happened but I don’t want it
to mark the end of my academic pursuit,” the girl said.
