At least seven people were killed and 18 others seriously injured when a bus carrying wedding guests crashed into an armoured military vehicle in northeast Nigeria, an official said Saturday.

The accident occurred late Friday when the bus full of women and children returning from a wedding collided with the armoured military vehicle outside the town of Azare in Bauchi state.

“The bus driver lost control when one of the front tyres burst just outside Azare and collided with the armoured military vehicle coming from the opposite direction,” transport official Saidu Yusuf Funtua told AFP.

“We took seven dead bodies to hospital with 18 people injured in the accident. All the victims were from the bus,” he said.

Deadly accidents are common on Nigeria’s poorly-maintained roads, often caused by speeding, overloading or reckless driving.

Whoever wants to impeach me, will have to impeach God first : Governor of Ekiti state Ayo Fayose

Governor of Ekiti state Ayo Fayose, says for anyone to successfully impeach him, they would have to impeach God first. Gov. Fayose said this during an audience participatory programme; 'Meet Your Governor' aired on the State Television, EKTV, Ekiti Radio, Progress FM and NTA, Ado Ekiti today April 6th.

"I’m like Israel that is in the midst of enemies but will always prevail. Whoever wants to remove me will first have to impeach God. They are doing all these just to get at me because of my support for President Jonathan and I have no regret for supporting the president.

Let me say it again, I have not been served any impeachment notice. The House of Assembly is also on recess and Dr Adewale Omirin is not the speaker of the State House of Assembly. Omirin is in court, challenging his impeachment and he can’t be challenging his impeachment in court and at the same time laying claim to being Speaker.” he said.

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has urged Igbos in Lagos State to forgive the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu for recent comments made against them.
Buhari made the plea on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, during an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship rally in the state.

Buhari paid a visit to the state on Tuesday to boost the campaign efforts of the APC candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode.
“I admire what your governor has done in terms of mobilising revenue to sustain Lagos development. I have a lot of respect for Governor Fashola for his hard work, commitment to the state and the country. There is no doubt that Lagos is a mini-Nigeria. Hannah Brierley and her mother Karen Marriott immeditaley called emergency service after 2 meter snake curled up on top of the radiator in the bathroom and did not want to slip away.

Describing the situation Mrs Marriott said: “Hannah was calm at first. She can’t even deal with spiders, but I don’t think she thought it was real. She’d been looking at it for a few minutes until it moved. She thought I was having a joke. I felt like a wally dialling 999 but I didn’t know what to do. I’m frightened because I don’t know how it got in. It was like something out of a film. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Everybody needed a wee, but we couldn’t go.”
