Wiz Khalifa Reveals When He Thinks Weed Will Be Legalized In America

Recently, Wiz Khalifa , who is known for his affinity to marijuana, was
asked to reveal when he believes weed will be legalized around the
country.
"In the next three to five years, hopefully," Wiz says in an interview
with Columbus, Ohio's Power 97.5 .
However, Wiz says that might be too long.
"Five years is pushing it," he adds. "So, in three years, it'll definitely
be decriminalized and accepted."
If marijuana is legalized, Wiz Khalifa will avoid further legal troubles
due to the drug. (July 28), Wiz revealed that he has been
arrested many times for weed-related charges and he's been keeping
count.
"The number is 21 right now," he said. "Yep, 21 arrests."
Wiz was recently arrested in Texas on drug charges . Following this May
arrest, Wiz took a selfie in a cell and posted it on social media . Also in
May, Wiz released his latest project, 28 Grams .

Tupac's Determination To Be Authentic Killed Him, According To Beastie Boys' Mike D

Beastie Boys' Mike D recently spoke on the passing of The Notorious
B.I.G. and Tupac during an interview with Vanity Fair .
"Yeah, he was 'Thug Life' and everything, but he was more of an
artistic kid," Mike D says. "But basically he was so determined to be
authentic, it ultimately killed him, which is a sad and tragic thing."
Tupac was shot and killed in 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During the interview, Mike D also spoke about The Notorious B.I.G.'s
passing.
"It was super surreal," he said. "It was like, 'What? Biggie got shot?' It
just seemed like it couldn't be true."
The Notorious B.I.G. was shot and killed in Los Angeles, California in
1997.

Drake Makes History On R&B/Hip Hop Airplay Chart

With Lil Wayne and Drake's "Believe me" rising on the R&B/Hip Hop
Airplay chart, Drake scores his 14th #1. This allows Drake to surpass
Usher for the most #1s in the chart's 22-year history, according to
Billboard.
"Believe Me" also helps Wayne reach new heights. The song acts as his
10th #1 and helps him become only the third act to reach double-digit
#1s, of course following Usher and Drake.
The greatest gainer on the chart is Oxymoron's "Studio," a cut by
ScHoolboy Q that features BJ The Chicago Kid.
Wayne and Drake are set to embark on their upcoming Street
Fighter themed Drake Vs. Lil Wayne tour. The tour, which has been
referred to by the emcees as a battle, is set to run through 31 cities
across the nation before coming to a close September 27 in Texas.

Nigerian weightlifter in doping shock

Nigerian teenage weightlifter Chika Amalaha has been provisionally
suspended from the Commonwealth Games after testing positive in a
doping test taken after she won gold in the women's 53kg category, the
Commonwealth Games Federation announced Tuesday.

The 16-year-old Amalaha provided an 'A' sample on July 25 which

revealed traces of diuretics and masking agents.

She will have a 'B' sample tested at a laboratory in London on July 30.

Commonwealth Games Federation chief executive Mike Hooper said: "We

[have] issued a formal notice of disclosure to an athlete following an

adverse analytical finding as a consequence of an in-competition test.

"That athlete is Nigerian weightlifter Chika Amalaha who was tested on

July 25th. That athlete has now been suspended from the Commonwealth

Games in Glasgow."

Amalaha snatched a best of 85kg before managing 111kg in the clean

and jerk for a total of 196kg, to become the youngest Commonwealth

weightlifter gold medallist.

It was the first doping case of the Glasgow Games and will likely once

again call into question the legitimacyof weightlifting as a

Commonwealth Games sport given its history of drug-related incidents.

Hooper though insisted that the sport had its place in multi-sport

events.

"I think weightlifting is a fantastic sport and a strong Commonwealth

and Olympic sport," he said.

"I think the issue here is about showing we have a robust anti-doping

programme in place. We want to send a message to anybody in any sport

who would go down the route of taking any substance to enhance

performance that they will be caught."

Nigerian weightlifting also has a history of drugs offences.

The Nigerian Weightlifting Federation was suspended for repeated

doping violations by the International Weightlifting Federation in 2001

and banned from competing in the following year's Manchester Games.

Sebastian Coe Withdraws from Race for BBC Leadership Role

LONDON — Sebastian Coe , who has been the favorite to succeed as
chairman of the BBC’s governing body, the BBC Trust, has
withdrawn from the race.
Coe, who masterminded the London 2012 Olympics and is chairman of
the British Olympic Assn., told the Daily Mail he wants to stand
instead for the presidency of the International Assn. of Athletics
Federations.
Coe, who won Olympic gold medals in the 1,500 meters in 1980 and
1984, said: “I did allow my name to go forward to give myself time
to properly analyze whether I had enough time to do the job to the
best of my abilities.
“On reflection, I haven’t the capacity and I now want to
concentrate on my current commitments, and the IAAF election. As
everyone knows, athletics is in my DNA.”
Other runners for the BBC job include Marjorie Scardino, the
former chief executive of Pearson, which owns the Financial Times,
and Channel 4 chairman Terry Burns, according to the Guardian.
The previous chairman, Chris Patten, resigned in May after major
heart surgery.
