Chris Brown has hinted that he is secretly
meeting ex-girlfriend Rihanna.The 25-year-old
singer, who is reportedly dating model
Karrueche Tran, said in an interview that he is
“just having fun” with his ex-flame.Brown said:
”We’re friends. Nothing too serious. We’re not
trying to start a life together right now, we’re
just having fun.”
However, Karrueche Tran is not worried about
losing her man to Riri.
A source told Hollywood Life : “Karrueche is one
of the main reasons Chris is back on his feet and
becoming more mature as the days go by. He
wouldn’t break her like that. He loves Karrueche
too much and wants her in his life forever.
Especially on a romantic level.”In Chris’ mind,
not too many girls can replace Karrueche or
even walk in her shoes. He has promised her
he’d never cheat on her or break her heart again
and he meant that,” the source added.”Chris can
have any woman he wants, and they keep
throwing themselves at him no matter where he
goes, but they don’t hold a candle to Karrueche.
He and Karrueche are solid”
Drunk Texting’ lyrics
Brown’s new song Drunk Texting featuring the
line”If by chance you’re laying next to someone
else right now/I hope it’s the worst sex ever,” is
speculated to be about Rihanna. In an interview
with Entertainment Tonight, the singer denied
such rumours, and said:
”Oh no, not at all. I think that’s just the fans’
perception or the media’s perception at all times
because of our history. But whenever we do
music, people can make the assumption and
that’s fine because if they buy more because they
think that, then go ahead and buy a thousand
copies.”He continued: ”But as far as me writing
and going into that, I don’t really try to put my
focus on Rihanna every song. At the end of the
day it’s almost six, seven years later. It’s like,
how many more times am I going to talk about
the same situation?”

Man beheads colleague after getting fired
Abuja - A man fired from a food processing plant beheaded a female co-
worker and attacked another before he was shot and wounded by a company
executive, Oklahoma police said on Saturday.
Authorities said that the gruesome attack happened on Thursday afternoon
when the suspect, Alton Nolen, 30, entered Vaughn Foods Company in
Moore, Oklahoma, near Oklahoma City, and attacked the two employees with
a knife.
According to the statement by the Moore Police Department, Nolen, who had
just been fired from his job at the plant, severed Colleen Hufford’s head with
a knife and attacked Traci Johnson with the same knife.
However, police said that Nolen was angry about being terminated.
According to authorities, the company's chief operating officer, Mark Vaughn,
who is also a part-time sheriff's deputy, confronted Nolen and shot and
wounded him, ending the assault.
The FBI is investigating the case since employees told police that Nolen had
been trying to convert several co-workers to Islam.
The attack appeared to copy the videotaped beheading of two American
journalists and a French tourist carried out by Islamic State terrorists.
However, police said that they believed the violence was triggered by Nolen
being fired and was not an act of terrorism.

'Cheating' woman stoned to death
Mogadishu - Somali al-Shabaab militants stoned a woman to death in the
southern town of Barawe on Friday after a court they had set up declared her
guilty of adultery, the militants and witnesses said.
The group, which pledges loyalty to al-Qaeda, has waged an armed campaign
to impose its strict interpretation of Islamic Shari'ah law. Forced out of many
areas of the east African country by African Union forces and the Somali
army, al-Shabaab is keen to show it has authority over areas it still controls.
Hundreds gathered to watch the killing of Safia Ahmed Jimale in an open
field. The 33-year old mother was buried up to her shoulders and pelted with
stones by masked al-Shabaab fighters and local men.
Some in the audience vomited, said resident Ahmed Abdullahi, who was in
the crowd. The killing was witnessed by the al-Shabaab governor for the
region.
Her body was then dug out of the ground and carried away for funeral
prayers, Abdullahi said.
A man who presented himself as an al-Shabaab judge said Jimale had
confessed to having three husbands. He said the three men were not aware
they were married to the same woman and had testified against her.
Jimale had admitted her guilt before the court and declared she was ready to
be stoned to secure God's forgiveness, said the unidentified judge.
Courts set up by the militants do not allow legal representation or appeals.
Jimale's family could not be reached for comment.
Islamic practice in many Muslim countries permits a woman to have only one
husband but a man can have as many as four wives.
Al-Shabaab has banned many aspects of modern life and ordered executions,
floggings and amputations for crimes such as theft.
Its fighters has been harrying the government in the capital Mogadishu with a
series of hit-and-run style gun and grenade attacks in recent years, following
huge losses of territory.

Brain repair 'may be boosted by curry spice'
A spice commonly found in curries may boost the brain's ability to
heal itself, according to a report in the journal Stem Cell Research
and Therapy . The German study suggests a compound found in
turmeric could encourage the growth of nerve cells thought to be
part of the brain's repair kit. Scientists say this work, based in
rats, may pave the way for future drugs for strokes and
Alzheimer's disease. But they say more trials are needed to see
whether this applies to humans. Continue reading the main story “ Start Quote

British man accused of having sex with corpse of missing teenager, another man charged in her murder
Two men appeared in a British court Thursday on charges connected to the
mysterious disappearance of a 15-year-old student missing since 2007.
One is charged with murdering the girl, who went missing after a family fight
at her Blackpool, England home. The other is charged with having sex with her
corpse, Britain's Daily Mirror reported.
Robert Ewing, 59, is accused of murder and intending to pervert the course of
justice. Gareth Dewhurst, 45, is accused of assisting an offender, intending to
pervert the course of justice and sexual penetration of a corpse.
Lawyers for both defendants said their clients will deny the charges, according
to the BBC.
The pair was arrested earlier this week, as was a 29-year-old man who was
questioned and released on bail.
British teen Paige Chivers has not been seen since her disappearance in 2007 at
age 15. Two men have been arrested in connection with her case though her
body has not yet been found.
The girl's body has not been found. It was not clear what led to the charge of
having sex with a corpse.
Chivers' disappearance generated national headlines in Britain. The girl was
distraught over the loss of her mother, who had died six months before the girl
went missing. Investigators said she was last seen carrying a bag and standing
at a bus stop on Aug. 23, 2007.
Police have been investigating her disappearance ever since.
The girl's father, Frank Chivers, 49, was murdered last year at his Blackpool
home, the BBC said . Sean Conlon, 44, who has no known address, was
convicted in Frank Chivers' murder and handed a 15-year prison sentence.
Online Scam: 2 Nigerians Arrested For Duping Foreigner Of N14.9M
Two Nigerians have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC) on allegations of fraud.
Dandeson Ebosele Ibhonitie , 26 and Ohiwerei Charity , 31 were said to have been
involved in internet fraud and they reportedly defrauded one Mrs. Weidman
Andrea Sabrie , a German national of $91,000 (14,914,903.10).
The EFCC made the disclosure via a statement released on September 26 and
signed by its Head of Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren .
The statement reads:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, September
26, 2014 arraigned Dandeson Ebosele Ibhonitie, 26, (a.k.a Dandy James,
Connor Mead and Barrister Louis Harpoch and Ohiwerei Charity, 31, before
Justice E. F. Ikponmwen of Edo State High Court, Benin-City on a 3- count
charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.
Ibhonitie and Charity allegedly belong to the group of fraudsters using the
internet to defraud unsuspecting victims.
Ibhonitie allegedly defrauded one Mrs. Weidman Andrea Sabrie, a German, of
the sum of $ 91,000 (Ninety-One Thousand United States Dollars) by
pretending to be an American working in Nigeria for a road construction
company.
To access the proceeds of the fraud, Ibhonitie allegedly opened a domiciliary
account in the name of one Mr. Steven. He entered into an agreement with
Charity, the account officer that opened the account for him, on how the
proceeds from the crime will be shared.
By the arrangement, Charity was to keep 3 percent of every inflow to herself
while 7 percent will go to Ibhonitie. The remaining 90 percent, by the
arrangement, went to Steven. However, investigations showed that Ibhonitie
was the same as Steven. When the charges were read to them, they pleaded not
guilty.
One of the counts read:
"Dandeson Ebosele Ibhonitie (a.k.a Dandy James, Connor Mead, Barrister Louis
Harpoch, Brett Francis Steven (still at large) and Ohiwerei Charity on or about

through Skye Bank of Nigeria Limited Account No: 2520346555 in the name of
Dandy James by falsely pretending to her that the said sum of money
represented legal fee for Barrister Louis Harpoch for your defense which
pretence you knew to be false".
In view of their pleas, prosecuting counsel, Ayokunle Fayanju, prayed the
court for a trial date. He also opposed the bail applications of the defendants.
Justice Ikponmwen adjourned the matter till August, 30, 2014 for hearing of
bail applications and ordered that the defendants be remanded in prison
custody.

Man 'tried to smuggle 51 turtles in his trousers' while crossing US-Canada border
A Canadian man is facing charges of reptile smuggling after 51
turtles were allegedly found strapped to his groin and legs as
he crossed the US-Canada border.
Kai Xu, 26, had reportedly attempted to take the creatures into
Windsor, Ontario, from Detroit in August, according to a
federal court filing.
He is alleged to have picked up a box scrawled with the words
“live fish keep cool” from a Detroit postal centre, before
disappearing for 10 minutes with tape, scissors and items
from the box.
He was then observed, by agents from the Fish and Wildlife
Service, to have developed “irregularly shaped bulges” in his
tracksuit bottoms.
In the criminal complaint, Fish and Wildlife Service Special
Agent Matthew Martin said: “Xu had 41 turtles taped to his
legs and 10 hidden between his legs.”
According to Detroit News , Xu, who is a Canadian citizen and
student at the University of Waterloo, appeared in court
yesterday charged with smuggling, illegal trading and
exporting. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
The species of turtles allegedly found on Xu’s person included
those indigenous to North America including Eastern box
turtles – which can be sound for up to $800 each,
Herpetologist David Mifsud told Detroit News .
Mr Mifsud also told the Toronto Star : “Smuggling turtles across
international border is unfortunately an increasingly common
occurrence.”
The turtles have since been handed over the relevant
authorities and “are receiving adequate care,” a spokeswoman
for the Fish and Wildlife Service said. “Once the case is closed,
the turtles are placed permanently.”
Xu was arrested on Wednesday alongside another Canadian,
Lihua Lin, 30, after Xu picked up a number of live turtles
from a FedEx outpost and the two met at a hotel in the town
of Novi, Michigan, according to the complaint.
The nest morning the men drove to the airport where Lin,
who was attempting to travel alone to Shanghai, China, was
found to have more than 200 North American pond turtles
within his luggage.
Lin was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond yesterday.

THE PEACE OF OUR LAND IS NOT NEGOTIABLE
State Broadcast By
His Excellency
Dr. Kayode FAYEMI
Governor, Ekiti State, following the Breach of Peace in the State
Friday, September 26, 2014.
In o kun o Ekiti Kete.
It has become expedient that I address you today on account of dire happenings
in the land of honour, Ekiti State. With tension mounting across the state, Ekiti
has been the subject of alarming headlines in the news, following the tragic
assault on the judiciary.
On Monday, September 22, thugs acting on the incitement of an interested
party, were involved in the sacrilegious sacking of the court while hearing on a
political case was in progress.
This happened in full glare of the law enforcement agents with inappropriate
response. Clearly, these brigands exceeded the limits of acceptable behavior,
even in the most liberal of democracies, and ventured into the realm of blatant
criminality with this desecration of the hallowed chambers of the law.
The fact that this assault did not meet with any strong deterring repercussions
from the appropriate authorities further emboldened the miscreants. They
subsequently attempted to prevent the Ekiti State Governorship Election Petition
Tribunal from sitting, yesterday, Thursday, September 25. I am advised
incontrovertibly that thugs acting on the command of Mr. Ayo Fayose, who was
also present to lend his clout to the travesty, brazenly assaulted a senior judge
and urged his thugs to beat him up and tear his clothes.
The court premises was thrown into confusion and those present scurried away
in search of safety and security. This was on the back of his specious allegation
that the judiciary in the state is compromised and biased against him. And the
answer to that was to resort to jungle justice and take the laws into his hands.
This has led to the closure of the courts indefinitely due to the inability of the
security agencies to guarantee the safety of lives and property in our temples
of justice. With the entrenched atmosphere of impunity, violence in the state has
escalated with the unfortunate loss of one life and the willful damage to several
properties to arson by rampaging thugs.
Since the beginning of this development on Monday, which is unprecedented in
the recent history of our state, I have been in touch with the Heads of all
Security Agencies at the State and Federal levels, urging them to act quickly
and firmly in the interest of public law and order. It is worrisome that the slow
and inadequate response has occasioned the avoidable escalation of violence in
our dear state.
Against this backdrop, it is understandable that not a few stakeholders have
expressed concern about what the development portends for our dear state. The
brazen contempt of our hallowed law courts and the use of violence and
intimidation to obstruct the course of justice is a clear invitation to anarchy of
the scale and texture that characterized Ekiti State some years ago. Ekiti Kete,
are those years upon us again?
Already, there is widespread anxiety about this development coming at a time
the state is going through the transitioning out of one administration and the
ushering in of a new one. This is a very delicate period that all stakeholders
must work together to ensure Ekiti State comes out stronger for it.
During periods of transition, vital partners in progress adopt a cautious posture,
watching for the slightest portents of the possible discontinuity of the regime of
peace and tranquility, amongst other factors that have made our state
conducive for investors and development partners. We must not disrupt our
very bright prospects for sustained development in our state.
Considering the cases that have triggered the recent spate of violence are
politically related, the political elite in our state from all disparate quarters must
exercise caution. We must rescue our state from the precarious slippery slope
that some have desperately pushed us to. We should not imperil the very
people we seek to serve by resorting to violence and brigandage. One does not
burn down his homestead to establish his claim of ownership or leadership.
Most assuredly, the course of Justice can only be delayed, but can never be
truncated. The independence of the Judiciary is an inviolable tenet of any
democracy. Accordingly, I have this morning directed the Attorney General of
the state to issue a legal advisory to the Chief Judge of the state and all the
parties to the existing cases in the State High Court and the Ekiti State
Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal, on the desirability of seeking an
alternative venue for the hearing of these cases outside Ekiti State. The State can
no longer afford to witness the bizarre spectacle of the beating up of judicial
officers and wanton intimidation of lawyers and court personnel.
Now that the security agencies appear to be fully seized of the situation, I call on
them not to relent in performing their constitutional role of protecting lives and
property in our state.
Administrations come and go; politics can be frenetic when the stakes are high;
but by the grace of the Almighty God, our state remains for all time, therefore
THE PEACE OF OUR LAND IS NOT NEGOTIABLE.
Ekiti Kete, consistent with our history of unity and love, let us work together to
make our state a garden of concord where our children and their children will
dwell in peace and safety. Even in the pursuit of politics and justice, let us
conduct ourselves as kinsmen, bound by a shared love for Ekitiland but
differing only in the choice of instruments by which to accomplish the same
goal.
Let us then temper our competitive zeal with civility and empathy. Let us deal
truthfully with our youth, who are so liable to be led astray by unbridled
political fervour, by seeing them as our children rather than as conscripts or
fodder for our objectives.
Ekiti Kete, in order to forestall further descent into anarchy in our state, I am
taking the very difficult decision to suspend the ‘Thank You’ tour which I’m
undertaking as part of our transitioning-out formalities. Also, I have taken the
decision to institute a dusk to dawn curfew in the state immediately.
Accordingly, there would be no movement between the hours of 7.00 p.m. and
7.00 a.m. everyday till further notice. We urge the citizenry to be vigilant and
provide the security agencies with details of suspicious activities that can
undermine the peace in our state.
Let us work together to stop the violence and brigandage that has brought about
serious embarrassment to our state in the last few days.
Let Peace Reign in the land of honour, Ekiti State.
God bless Ekiti State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Fayose loyalist was shot dead by unknown gunmen, hoodlums went on a
rampage destroying the campaign office of the state governor, Kayode Fayemi,
as well as the APC secretariat. The thugs also destroyed properties belonging to
other politicians.
Today's chaos is believed to be an aftermath of the assassination of the former
chairman of the Ekiti state NURTW, Mr Omalafe Aderiye.
Above is a pic of Governor Fayemi's campaign office after it was razed. He has
since declared a 7pm-7am curfew in the state to halt the crisis. Continue to read

Renowned mathematician dies after getting lost during walk in Moscow woods
A globally renowned London University mathematician has
been found dead after he got lost in a forest in Moscow while
out for a walk.
Professor Alexey Chervonenkis’s body was found on
Wednesday by a helicopter during a search by emergency
service personnel and more than 100 of his colleagues and
students, the university said in a statement on its website.
The 76-year-old academic was known for his work in pattern
recognition and computational learning. He and a colleague
also created a “whole new research area of statistical learning
theory” and pioneered ideas about minimizing structural risk,
the university said.
“It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death
of Alexey Chervonenkis, Emeritus Professor in this department
and a long-time member of the Computer Learning Research
Centre,” it said.
“Alexey was an avid walker covering many miles around
London, in other parts of Britain and the world, and especially
in and around his native Moscow.
“On 21 September he went for a walk in Losiny Ostrov, a
beautiful forest in Moscow, and lost his way. A search party
was organized straight away. It included both professionals
and more than a hundred of his colleagues and students, but
they could not do anything; his body was found yesterday
from a helicopter.”
Professor Chervonenkis, who split his time between London
and a research institute in Moscow, called his wife at 8.20pm
local time on Sunday to tell her that he was lost in a swamp
but would try to find his way out. An hour later, she suggested
calling the emergency services but her husband said they
would not be able to find him, The Guardian reported.
He called a final time at about midnight, saying he was tired
and shaking. Temperatures dropped to below freezing that
night.
The search party found his glasses and the helicopter was then
able to find him lying in the grass.
Volunteer search co-ordinator Grigory Sergeyev said: “The
search party passed very near him, but there’s a lot of grass
there and lots of water spots because it’s a swamp, and
finding a person laying in the grass is nearly impossible.”
Mr Sergeyev added that the cause of death was “almost
certainly hypothermia”.
“He was a great teacher and friend, and will be deeply
missed,” the university said.

China uncovers $10bn fake trades
The world's second largest economy is dependent on trade for growth
China has uncovered $10bn (£6.1bn) worth of fake trades as part of a
nationwide crackdown on companies.
The currency regulator said 15 fraud cases had been handed over to the police
for prosecution.
Companies sometimes falsify transactions as a way of getting money in and out
of China.
"Fake trade deals can do severe harm to ...the overall economy" said Wu
Ruilin, deputy head of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE).
"They not only increase the pressure of hot money inflows, but also provide
illegal channels for cross-border capital flows," he added.
Blame has also been placed on banks operating in China.
"Some banks facilitated the abnormal increase in transit trade financing and
fake trade deals by failing to fulfil the responsibility of authenticity checks and
offering services of transit trade financing and receipt and payment," Mr Wu
was quoted as saying in Xinhua - the state news agency.
The crackdown started in 13 provinces and cities last year, and has widened to
24 this year.
China has strict capital control regulations, which set limits on the purchase and
sale of overseas assets by its residents. It also has similar restrictions on the
buying and selling of Chinese assets by foreigners.
The global commodities markets were shaken in June last year, when an
investigation into trade fraud in China showed companies had used fake receipts
at a port in Qingdao, in east China, to obtain multiple loans using the same
cargo of copper as collateral.
That prompted international banks and trading houses to launch a series of
lawsuits over their exposure, which was estimated to be around $900m.

Boko Haram fighters 'surrender' as alleged chief killed
Haram's leader Abubakar Shekau, thought to have died in 2009
More than 260 Boko Haram militants have surrendered in north-eastern
Nigeria, the military has said.
The military says it has also killed a man featuring in the group's recent
propaganda videos, pretending to be its deceased leader Abubakar Shekau.
The army said it had killed Shekau last year, but never provided proof.
Boko Haram has suffered heavy losses in recent weeks as the Nigerian military
battles the group close to its hometown of Maiduguri in the north-east.
The military said that 135 Boko Haram members surrendered with their
weapons in Biu, Borno State, on Tuesday - and that 133 others surrendered
elsewhere in north-eastern Nigeria.
The BBC's Will Ross in Lagos says that the claims are impossible to verify.
However, if they are true, it could be a major turning point for the army's
campaign against Boko Haram militants, our correspondent adds.
The kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls in April sparked a worldwide
campaign for their release.
It was also the first time that the Nigerian military has publicly mentioned the
death of the group's leader Abubakar Shekau, who security forces claimed had
died in clashes with the army in 2009.
General Chris Olukolade of the Nigerian military said that a man named
Mohammed Bashir was among those killed in the latest offensive against Boko
Haram last week.
Bashir "had been acting or posing in videos as the deceased Abubakar Shekau,
the eccentric character known as leader of the group", he added.
The military however did not give any dates or locations for when they believe
Shekau actually died.
Speaking at the United Nations Security Council meeting, Nigerian President
Goodluck Jonathan urged the council to find more ways to combat the militant
threat.
"Evidence has shown that Boko Haram is sourced largely from outside our
country," he said.
"Only by united action and firm resolve can we check this urgent threat to
humanity and also build the enduring structures that will resist their re-
emergence."
"Boko Haram" means "Western education is forbidden" in Arabic, and the
group frequently attacks schools and colleges, which it sees as a symbol of
Western culture.
Boko Haram was behind the kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls from
Chibok in Borno state in April.
The New York-based Human Rights Watch says more than 2,000 civilians
have been killed in the region this year.
India's Mars satellite 'Mangalyaan' sends first images
The first image of Mars taken by the Indian orbiter
India's space agency has released its first picture of Mars, taken by its satellite
which entered orbit around the Red Planet on Wednesday.
"The view is nice up here," tweeted @isro. A handful of images have been sent
by the Mangalyaan probe so far.
Part of its mission is to study the Martian atmosphere for signs of life.
It is the first time a maiden voyage to Mars has entered orbit successfully and it
is the cheapest. Nasa's current Maven mission cost 10 times more.
Media in India have hailed the venture as a "historic achievement".
The Hindu newspaper reported that the probe "has beamed back about 10
pictures of the Red Planet's surface which show some craters".
Officials were quoted by the newspaper as saying the pictures were of "good
quality".
Analysis - Jonathan Amos, Science correspondent
India's space programme has succeeded at the first attempt where others have
failed - by sending an operational mission to Mars.
It is, without doubt, a considerable achievement. This is a mission that has been
budgeted at 4.5bn rupees ($74m), which, by Western standards, is staggeringly
cheap.
The American Maven orbiter that arrived at the Red Planet on Monday is
costing almost 10 times as much.
Back in June, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi even quipped that India's
real-life Martian adventure was costing less than the make-believe Hollywood
film Gravity.
Why India's Mars mission is so cheap - and thrilling.
Maiden success
Applause broke in the control room out as the news came through that the
probe had entered Mars's orbit
Reports said the camera was the first of the instruments being carried by the
satellite to be switched on, a few hours after it entered the planet's orbit.
India's 1,350kg (2,976lb) robotic satellite, which undertook a 10-month-long
200-million-kilometre journey, is equipped with five instruments.
They include a thermal imaging spectrometer to map the surface and mineral
wealth of the planet and a sensor to track methane or marsh gas - a possible
sign of life.
The mission will also analyse the thin Martian atmosphere.
India has become the fourth nation or geo-bloc to put a satellite into orbit
around Mars, and the first from Asia.
Only the US, Russia and Europe have previously sent missions to Mars, and
India has succeeded at its first attempt - an achievement that eluded even the
Americans and the Soviets.

Kendrick Lamar Discusses Blood, Crip Presence On "i" Cover Art
Kendrick Lamar says that he had a specific objective with the cover art for his
“i” single .
“Where I’m from, there’s a lot of gang culture and things like that, so instead
of throwing on up gang signs, which we used to, I put a Blood and I put a Crip
together and we’re throwing up hearts,” Kendrick Lamar says during an
interview with AMP Radio . "Sparking the idea of some type of change through
music or through me because I go back to the city now and people give me the
honor and respect that, you know, this kid can change a little bit something
different that’s been going on in the community.”
Lamar also says that he is making a point to minimize outside musical
influences while working on his forthcoming album.
“When I go into creating an album or any type of song, I usually cut off
everything from the radio because you can easily be influenced from songs
that you like, songs that you may not like,” Lamar says. "So I said, ‘I’m gonna
go in the studio and I’m going to do what I feel organically without being
confined to industry standards or what people assume that I should do,’ because
at the end of the day, man, I’m an artist and I would hate to be stagnant.”
Yesterday (September 23), Kendrick Lamar discussed his relationship with
Drake and J. Cole and blamed the media for trying to pit him against those he
named on “Control.”
“Same place,” said Kendrick when asked where he’s at with J. Cole and Drake
during an interview on Los Angeles radio station Power 106's Big Boy’s
Neighborhood. “It’s all love. From the moment I did the verse to after the
verse. I think Hip Hop is a sport, so you gonna have these little spits and spats.
And it’s all good because personally I respect these dudes as people. You know
what I mean? Outside of that it’s really nothing. I respect their music, for sure.
I respect them as individuals and creators. And I think what the media tried to
do is insane because they take these black, young brothers and really try to
clash it and make—Bump heads. And that’s not right. That’s how I look at it. I
think it’s not right. And I think that’s why it’s great to really show people how
we support one another. Because Hip Hop was something that wasn’t supposed
to be here for this long.”

Police Nab 55-Year-Old Armed Robbery Gang Leader
A respected business and a red-cap chief, Jude Dike, has been arrested and
paraded by the Lagos State Police Command for being the leader of an armed
robbery gang » that has been terrorising the state and other parts of the
country.
The police say the 55-year-old Chief Jude Dike, who spent several years in Italy
doing drug runs, is the sponsor and leader of the 7-man gang comprising Joel
Eghon, 38, Solomon Igwe, 32, Ifeanyi Onwuegbuchi, 34, Emmanuel Ifeanyi, 34,
Ejike Emegwo, 31, and Leonard Afoaku, 39.
The grey haired Dike who hails from Orlu, Imo State, owns a thriving
warehouse in Idumota area of Lagos where he stores and sell the goods stolen
by his gang.
Speaking with Punch Newspaper » when he was being paraded by the police,
Chief Dike had this to say:
I have my stores on Ashogbon Street, Isale Eko, Idumota in Lagos.
Before coming to Lagos, I was in Italy for eight years. I was doing
drug runs for many dealers. I came back to Lagos three years ago,
where I met Emegwo. We were staying together in Idumota. He was the one
who introduced me to the gang.
When they go on operations, they drop the goods they snatch in my
store. I sell them for the gang and share the money out after
removing my own gains. When some cosmetics were stolen, my gain
was N800,000. On another occasion, my gain was N600,000.
At a point, I told them I wanted to quit because I knew I was treading
a wrong path, but they threatened to implicate me and I continued.
Speaking on how the gang was arrested, the State Commissioner of Police,
Cornelius Aderanti, said on September 20th, information got to him that some
armed robbers who had earlier snatched a Toyota Hiace bus around Ebute
Metta, were planning another operation.
He immediately instructed men of the State Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, to chase
after the robbers. They were arrested and the stolen Toyota car recovered.

India's first Mars satellite 'Mangalyaan' enters orbit
India has successfully put a satellite into orbit around Mars, becoming the fourth
country to do so.
The Mangalyaan robotic probe, one of the cheapest interplanetary missions
ever, will soon begin work studying the Red Planet's atmosphere.
A 24-minute engine burn slowed the probe down enough to allow it to be
captured by Mars' gravity.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country had achieved the "near
impossible".
Speaking at the mission control centre in the southern city of Bangalore he
said: "The odds were stacked against us. Of 51 missions attempted in the world
only 21 have succeeded. We have prevailed."
Only the US, Europe and Russia have previously sent missions to Mars, but
India is the first country to succeed on its first attempt.
The latest US satellite, Maven, arrived at Mars on Monday.
US space agency Nasa congratulated its Indian counterpart, the Indian Space and
Research Organization (Isro), on Wednesday's success.
"We congratulate @ISRO for its Mars arrival! @MarsOrbiter joins the missions
studying the Red Planet," the agency tweeted.
At the scene: Sanjoy Majumder, Bangalore
Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) is one of the cheapest interplanetary missions
ever undertaken.
From early in the morning, there was an atmosphere of excitement and tension
at the Indian Space Agency's Mission Tracking Centre in Bangalore.
Scientists, many of them women and several of them young, were seated in
front of their computer monitors tracking the progress of Mangalyaan.
Giant screens above their heads fed a steady stream of data, graphics and
sequence of operations. The first whoops broke out when Mangalyaan
successfully fired up its liquid engine, the first in a series of critical moves to
make sure that the spacecraft was able to launch into the planet's gravitational
pull.
Then there was an agonising 20 minutes, when Mangalyaan disappeared behind
Mars and beyond contact.
But there was no mistaking the moment, when the scientists all rose as one,
cheered, clapped, hugged each other and exchanged high fives - confirmation
that Mangalyaan was now on an elliptical orbit around Mars.
After PM Modi's congratulations, they poured out into the open and the bright
sunlight, beaming as they took in the adulation.
"Thrilled to be a part of history," one young scientist told me. "It's like hitting a
golf ball from Bangalore to London and getting it into the hole in one go,"deputy operations director, BN Ramkrishna said. "It's got to be that precise."
'Better than cricket'
Mr Modi congratulated the scientists and said: "Today all of India should
celebrate our scientists. Schools, colleges should applaud this."
"If our cricket team wins a tournament, the nation celebrates. Our scientists'
achievement is greater," he said.
The total cost of the Indian mission has been put at 4.5bn rupees ($74m;
£45m), which makes it one of the cheapest interplanetary space missions ever.
Nasa's recent Maven mission cost $671m.
The Mangalyaan probe will now set about taking pictures of the planet and
studying its atmosphere.
One key goal is to try to detect methane in the Martian air, which could be an
indicator of biological activity at, or more likely just below, the surface.
Nasa has put four robot rovers on Mars since 1997 - the latest and biggest of
them all, the one-tonne vehicle known as Curiosity, landed on the Red Planet in
August 2012. Unlike Curiosity, the Indian probe will not land on Mars.
Mangalyaan - more formally referred to as Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) - was
launched from the Sriharikota spaceport on the coast of the Bay of Bengal on 5
November 2013.

Nigerian Senate Says Soldiers Sentenced to Death Deserve Death
As Nigerians continue to clamour and beg for pardon for the 12 Nigerian
soldiers » sentenced to death for their part in the mutiny that took place in the
Maimalari Military Cantonment in Maiduguri, Borno State, in the heat of the
Boko Haram insurgency, the Nigerian Senate has declared that it would not
plead with the Nigerian Army to spare the lives of soldiers, because they
deserve the death sentence » passed on them by the military court martial.
The position of the Senate was made known by the Chairman, Senate Committee
on Defence, George Sekibo, in a closed-door meeting with the top military
officers led by the Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh.
The Senate went further to say that executing the soldiers is in the best interest
of the Nigerian military.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, Mr. Sekibo said the senate was not under
pressure to intervene to save the lives of the soldiers:
No, we are not under pressure because the Armed Forces is
established by an Act of the National Assembly. The Act spelt out
categorically the conduct of soldiers and the way they are to behave
wherever they are. If you join the military that Act is to guide you and your
conduct.
If you go contrary to any of the prescribed sections of the Act, the
punishment prescribed for the Act you violated will come on you.
So the military did not just wake up one day and say that they are
going to kill Mr A or Mr B. They (military) went through the
necessary processes and they found them guilty.
Recall that 12 Nigerian soldiers, now famously called Maiduguri 12, were
sentenced to death by a military court martial on September 16, 2014, for an
offence of mutiny after firing shots at their commanding officer, Maj. Gen.
Abubakar Mohammed, in Maiduguri on May 14.

BARRY MANILOW: 'I SING WITH DEAD PEOPLE'
(SHOWBIZ411) — Barry Manilow has recorded an album of duets with dead
people. They are all dead. Dead, dead, dead. And he’s releasing it a few days
before Halloween on October 27th.
After all, Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett have duets albums. Why not
Barry? Of course, Barbra did resurrect Elvis for her album. Now it’s Barry’s
turn to be the crypt keeper.
And what a group! Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe and Jimmy Durante he got
from one of those Hollywood Boulevard souvenir shops. Whitney Houston?
Why not Michael Jackson? (Probably couldn’t get permission.) Barry’s also got
Andy Williams, Louis Armstrong, “Mama” Cass Elliot, Sammy Davis Jr., Dusty
Springfield, John Denver, and Frankie Lymon.
