Boko Haram commander arrested in Borno

Borno - The Defence Headquarters has said troops involved in a gun battle
with Boko Haram insurgents have captured a high ranking commander of the
sect, Thisday reports.
Military said that the terrorists’ leader, whose name is still being kept secret,
was captured after the second but fiercer battle waged by the insurgents to
recapture the town following their earlier routing by the military.
60 members of the sect were reportedly killed during the gun battle for the
control of Konduga between 4pm and 8pm on Wednesday.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Olajide Laleye, said
the on-going operations were to dislodge Boko Haram terrorists from the
North-east which are allegedly to be in control of 25 towns in the region.
