Cape Town – President Goodluck Jonathan has reportedly vowed to
bring back the schoolgirls who were abducted by Boko Haram
militants on 14 April, saying his government was doing everything
possible to secure their release.
Jonathan said this as he met relatives of the schoolgirls for the
first time since the girls were seized .
According to BBC Jonathan said his administration aimed not just
at rescuing the girls but to also rout Boko Haram Islamists
"completely from Nigeria".
He said government was mindful of the girls' safety and wanted to
return them all alive to their parents.
Jonathan's visit also came as reports said that almost a dozen
parents of the abducted girls have died from stress and attacks .
