Police on full alert after Kano terror attacks

Abuja - Nigerian police have stepped up patrols and
surveillance in cities across the country following a spate of
terror attacks in Kano.
According to sources, police operatives are carrying out both
overt and covert operations nationwide, while special teams
are carrying out sweeping raids on suspected terrorist hide
outs.
The police enjoined citizens to remain vigilant and continue to
support the security forces by promptly giving information on
suspicious person(s) or activities.
As part of on-going investigations into the various terror
related incidents that occurred in Kano, police operatives have
arrested five male suspects for their complicity in the attacks.
Frank Mba, Force Public Relations Officer, confirmed the
arrest in a statement from Abuja.
He said two were arrested in connection with the foiled bomb
attack at Isyaku Rabiu Mosque and three were arrested in
connection with the attack at St Charles Church.
All suspects are currently undergoing interrogation.
Mba added that intensive patrols were ongoing and citizens
were advised to be vigilant and report any suspicious person
(s) or activities to security forces.
