Rolling Stone Lists "20 Biggest Songs of the Summer: The 1990s"

Rolling Stone has compiled a list of “20 Biggest Songs of the Summer:
The 1990s,” a grouping that features a number of Rap and R&B
songs.
Rolling Stone says it compiled its list by looking at songs that
dominated Billboard’s Hot 100 chart between June and September,
"dictated by peak chart positions and total length of run on the Hot
100. We've also ignored all the unseasonal ballads – so our apologies
to Elton John, Bryan Adams and more."
The Notorious B.I.G. ’s “One More Chance/Stay With Me (Remix)”
lands at #15 on the list. Rolling Stone details how the album version
of the song differed dramatically from its remix.
"In 1995, long after the album's 1994 release,” Rolling Stone says,
"the track was dramatically revamped for the third single, with
Biggie spitting new verses over a slower beat, featuring a DeBarge
sample and a vocal cameo by his new bride, Faith Evans."
Tag Team’s 1993 single “Whoomp! (There It Is)” is the #6 song on
the list and Sir Mix-A-Lot ’s “Baby Got Back” comes in at #4.
Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” is the #1 song on the list.
"Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney launched Thriller's singles
campaign with 'The Girl Is Mine,' playfully quarreling over a love
triangle,” Rolling Stone says. "Fifteen years later, two rising R&B
stars created a more dramatic answer song, bigger than its
inspiration, topping the charts for a whopping 15 weeks in the
summer of 1998.
