Internet Fraud Polytechnic student jailed for N100,000 car scam in Edo

A student of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State,
Bello Dominic Oizamisi , has been handed a one-year jail
term for organising a car scam on the internet.
Justice Sabiu Yahuza of the Federal High Court, Dutse ,
found Oizamisi guilty of defrauding a buyer of the sum of
N100,000 naira and sentenced him.
The court heard that the accused had in January 2013
advertised a car for sale on the internet which one Abdul-
Azeez Abdul-Rahman indicated he wanted to buy.
Oizamisi then negotiated with Abdul-Rahman and
demanded the said sum which the latter paid through a
new generation.
The buyer waited a while for his car to be delivered.
He then alerted the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission (EFCC) which investigated and arrested the
scammer.
Oizamisi pleaded guilty and was handed the one year
sentence with a N100,000 fine option.
