NDLEA Agency arrest 63 drug traffickers in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Command of the National Drug
and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), March 20, has
seized 535kg of narcotic and psychotropic substances in the
process, the agency announced on Friday, March 20.
The anti-graft agency arrested 63 persons in connection to
the drugs.
The head of the agency in Nasarawa, Sumaila Ethan ,
told journalists in Lafia that the suspects were apprehended
in the Yankaddle village, Keffi Local Government area.
He revealed that four suspects were arrested, prosecuted
and convicted at the Federal High Court, Lafia, the state
capital.
“In the first quarter of 2015, 63 suspects were arrested and
about five hundred and thirty five kilograms of narcotic
drugs and psychotropic substances were seized. “One of the
most sensational arrest and seizure that we have made is
that of two drug barons who were conveying 55 bags of
cannabis sativa in a Toyota Siena SUV,” Ethan said.
