Liverpool reminded supporters exactly why he's still one of
the best midfielders in the Premier League — and the
statistics certainly back it up.
Since Mata arrived in the Premier League in August
2011, he has amassed 31 goals and 34 assists, a figure which
puts him above the likes of Yaya Toure , Eden Hazard and
Steven Gerrard.
The 26-year-old showed his matchwinning credentials
with a brace at Anfield on Sunday, although many fans
have been left unimpressed at the Spaniard's consistency
levels since he arrived from Chelsea for £37m in 2013.
If he carries on performing like this then Jose Mourinho
will surely want him back...
