Ex-militants threaten to disrupt Shell operations

Yenogoa - An aggrieved Niger Delta ex-militant group has threatened
to halt the operations of Shell Petroleum Development Company of
Nigeria (SPDC) and its affiliates in the 10 communities hosting the
Southern Swamp Associated Gas Solution Plus Project (SSAGS),
reports NewsDay.
The ex- militants accused the company’s management of marginalizing
the youths in the host communities by employing people outside the
communities.
In addition, the ex- militants are not happy with the company for
engaging contractors and workers from other areas outside the
communities hosting the project.
They have called on President Goodluck Jonathan, Governors Seriake
Dickson and Emmanuel Uduaghan of Bayelsa and Delta states to
prevent a looming communal crises by calling Shell to order.
